Desperately Searching for Writing Ideas?
The ability to write — and to write daily — is critical if you own a web site. Words equal search engine traffic and readers.
Not only do we have blogs to post to, but commonly accepted ways of promoting web sites are to publish articles, publish “snippets” about our pages in other people’s blogs (if accepted), publish comments in other people’s blogs, publish Squidoo lenses or Hub pages linking back to our web pages and, of course, adding new content to our existing sites so that they stay fresh. That’s a heck of a lot of writing. And that doesn’t even begin to touch all the resources available out there that we can write to in order to promote our web businesses.
I personally make it a habit to write something the first thing in the morning. It can be an article, it can be a post to this blog, and so forth. The thing is, it’s time consuming to write every day and sometimes it can be a real challenge to know what to write about!
For my general niche types of sites that are there solely as traffic magnets, I’ll use PLR (private label rights) articles but to be honest, many of them are not very well written. I tweak them quite a bit before I use them. That’s to avoid publishing exactly what every one else is publishing, to clean up grammar errors and to make sure the article is factually correct. The best thing about PLR articles is that they’ll jump start my writing if I’m feeling short of ideas. Oftentimes, they’ll generate new ideas. As to my main sites or sites that I want to establish a decent reputation, I write from scratch, in my own voice and based on my own experiences.
When I’m short on ideas and need content, the best tool I’ve found is a software tool called “Instant Article Wizard Pro.”After you’ve opened the software, you can type in a keyword or phrase that is relevant to your site. For instance, you can type in something like “writing.” The software will, if you choose, search for related keywords or phrases that you can use.
Select a keyword or phrase from the list that the software generates and then let it start pulling sentences from web pages it finds on the search engines, from article directories and from government sites and public sources. What I like about the software is that it will allow you to easily create references. Let’s say, for instance, that you are writing an article about lead in paint. If you have the software program search the government archives for information, you can easily have your article give a linked citation to the source with a click of a button.
There’s a very good video on the Instant Article Wizard Pro site that shows all the features and potential of the software. Click the image below to watch the video:
While I don’t recommend using the content generated by the software verbatim, it is an incredible, time-saving way to jump start any writing project. Check it out — it’s only $7.00 for the first month and $27.00 a month thereafter. Considering the fact that many PLR sites charge at least $97 a month or hiring freelance writers can get very pricey, Article Writing Wizard Pro is a real bargain.
