Computer Tips for “Regular People” — How to Open a Document That Your Computer Can’t Read
If you have been sent a document that cannot be converted to text (see yesterday’s post), there’s an excellent conversion program called QuickView Plus. This amazing software can open virtually any document or email attachment without your having to purchase additional software programs.
Over 300 different file types are supported by QuickView Plus, including Mirocosoft Office 2007, Word Perfect, Open Office Writer, Star Office Writer and more. You can even open up database files with QuickView Plus, such as Quatro Pro, dBase, Excel and Access. QuickView supports most graphic files and email formats.
QuickView Plus is easy to use. Simply right click on the document that you are unable to view and select QuickView Plus.
Right click and select Quick View Plus
After you have opened your document in QuickView Plus, it’s easy to convert it:
- Click EDIT.
- Click SELECT ALL.
- Click the COPY ICON.
- Paste what you have copied into your software program. You might need to go through Notepad, first, if there are conversion errors.
