Computer Tips for ‘Regular People’ - A Quick PC Fix
This morning I fixed a friend’s personal computer. After her husband downloaded some software, strange error messages started coming up, the pc was making awful sounds, and the sound would not work properly. If you are faced with similar problems, here’s a three-step process to follow that might repair your system quickly and easily so you don’t have to call a tech:
Step One - Try System Restore or Else Remove the New Software
If the download that messed up your computer was recent, you might be able to undo the damage with system restore. You can see how to do this here. Generally, this will fix the problem. You can also access your control panel, select “add or remove programs” and then remove the new software program.
Step Two - Run Your Anti-Virus and Anti-Spyware Programs
Make sure you scan your computer for viruses. Some recommended programs can be found here.
Step Three - Clean the Registry
Make sure your registry is not cluttered with bad software prompts. You can learn more about the registry here. If you are a novice, I suggest that you use the recommended RegCure program.
When It’s Said and Done, Defragment Your Hard Drive
After you have performed the above three steps, optimize your computer performance by defragging the hard drive. There is a step-by-step guide here.
Conclusion
Most computer problems are not too complicated, and 8 times out of 10, I have found that the foregoing steps will take care of common issues. These steps are something that you can easily do, and you may discover that you save a lot of money in computer repair by following them.

School computers saved
I am a computer teacher in a reputed school. The computers of our school were severely plagued with trojans. The speed of our computers was drastically decreased and eventually the students started loosing interest in the subject. It was really a serious problem and also my job was getting insecure but finally http://www.search–and-destroy.com helped me. It scanned and removed several trojans and eventually the speed of our computers increased, students are now very much interested in learning computers and of course my job is secured.
This is good to know, Suzie. Thank you for sharing.
