Keeping it simple, without the hype. PC tips and Internet advice for mom and pop businesses.
If 2009 is the year that you are planning on building a website, but technology is not your “thing,” then Blinkweb may be the solution you are looking for. Designed for the average person who does not have web design training and who finds programs such as Dreamweaver or Frontpage confusing, Blinkweb is the first website creation tool of its kind that will allow the mom and pop businessperson or anyone else to create their own unique, professional looking websites without knowing html or hiring a professional web designer.
Website Building is Easy with Blinkweb’s Drag and Drop Features.
Blinkweb is a web based website creation tool with drag and drop functionality. It allows users to create a content type of website (such as articles and product lines associated with their mom and pop businesses), a sales letter type of site and even a blog. New, high quality templates are constantly added so that the completed site does not look like a “factory generated” or “online generated” site. The quality templates, together with a wealth of editing capabilities, allow users to create websites that look both unique and professional… all the while, requiring no html or technical skills.
Although Free, Blinkweb Creates Professional-Looking Sites.
What sets Blinkweb apart from other website generators is the “drag and drop functionality” that easily allows users to create their websites any way that they want. Most online website generators force users to fill in blanks for various things such as “title of your article”, “article body”, “color of text” and so on. Once finished, you would then click a “create website” button and out would come a standard, factory generated looking website with very limited functionality. Essentially your website would look like every one else’s website that used the tool. With Blinkweb, you can create a website in any way, shape, or form that you want. The only limitation is your imagination.
The beauty of creating a site with Blinkweb is that you cannot tell the difference between a Dreamweaver/FrontPage created website and a Blinkweb created website. The only difference is the person creating the Blinkweb website had no html or technical knowledge.
Check It Out … You Have Nothing to Lose.
Blinkweb’s page builder is free.

Hi Nice Blog . Good one- SEO india.
This is a good idea, however I don’t think tools like this will ever be able to replace a professional designer. While the tool can create a professional looking page, and the drag and drop features give some uniqueness, the individual elements will still be cookie cutter for every site, and created pages will not have the unique feel of a custom designed page in my opinion.
I agree, Jonathan. However, for the mom and pop business that is on a very strict budget and new to the Internet, it’s a good way to start out.
I have some experiance building simple websites. One of the problems is the complexity of it. Blinkweb looks like a very effective tool to use. I going going to test it. Thanks!
Please let us know how it works out, James. I think WordPress is definitely a good way to go, too, if html builders are too complicated — although if you have a brick and mortar store and want to add products, shopping carts can be a challenge.
Free is definitely the right price. I bought Xsite last year and its good but also costs several hundred dollars! Thanks for the review
Actually, xSitePro costs $297 and, if you ask me, you can get it for $197. If you really purchased it for several hundred dollars (which I don’t believe), then you need to contact whoever sold it to you and get some of your money back.
Finally a site that shows real work done. It’s amazing how there’s little effort into making a good site, and how easily most of the developers out there skip fail to do so. Kudos to them for making it, i know i’ll try it just for the fun of it, and nice of you to bring it up.
