HTML Tips: Wrapping Text Around a Table

Posted on August 7th, 2009 by Urbain

New site designers often wonder how to create a small table that’s aligned with the left or right side of a page, and the “main text” wraps around the table.  For instance, they might want to put Adsense code into the table and then wrap their content around the table.

Here are two simple ways to do this.

In the first example, you can use standard HTML coding to specify that the table is aligned to the left or right.  In this instance, it is aligned to the left:

In the second example, you use the divider tag. You could insert a table or, if you are using Adsense or some other type of advertisement code, you can specify where you want the code (i.e., to the left or right). Make sure you specify the margins around the code; i.e., 10 pixels.

The end result will be the same, no matter which method you use. Here’s a sample of how the text wraps around an advertisement.
