Keeping it simple, without the hype. PC tips and Internet advice for mom and pop businesses.
Before I knew it, it was 3:00 in the morning. Because we’re less than 100 days away from the end of 2009, I am accomplishing my goal of sorting through, weeding through, editing and uploading the ton of PLR articles I have and taking care of a couple domains that have been dormant for years.
As I get some of this organized, I am going to do a few case studies that show my successes and/or failures at making some money online, using the tools I’ve been talking about here.
But for now, one of the biggest challenges is converting the Word versions of PLR articles to text so that they will display right on my blogs and html sites. For years, I have used Cody Moya’s document to text conversion software which will do this in a snap. You can “batch convert” by changing an entire folder’s worth of Microsoft Office documents to .txt files. I am not sure if he is still offering it, but I got my version from Cody’s YourOwnArticles membership site.
I think the key with these types of conversion programs is that you want to be able to convert batches of files. Doing it one at a time will take forever and you’ll lose patience quickly.
Although I have not personally used it, another program that looks like it will do the job is called ABC Amber Text Converter. As you can see from the screen shot, it can handle numerous file types.
Amber offers a 30-day demo that does not have the batch conversion enabled, but it might be worth a try.
A free conversion tool that I have heard works great — and can handle batches — is called AntiWord. I have not tried it, but if you have a lot of PLR content in Word format, you might want to check it out.
