The Cellulite Case Study – Now No. 1

Posted on October 25th, 2009 by Urbain

When I started out this case study on October 4, 2009, I chose the domain “Cellulite Is” based on the keyword research.  I was hoping at that time that I could meet or beat the #3 position in Google.  The site went live on October 13.

Yesterday, we were at #10.

Today, we are at #1.

I’ve done article marketing and submitted “blurbs” to the network of blogs that I am setting up for you folks to use.  I am going to continue with the link building so this site will see some revenue and to target the same keyword phrase in quotes.  Currently, there have been a number of clicks to Amazon products, but no buys.

The Cellulite Case Study: 10/24/2009 Report

Posted on October 24th, 2009 by Urbain

When we started this out, the keyphrase I choose was “cellulite is.”  This morning, the page is now in Google’s top 10 search results for “cellulite is ” (without the quotes).  That’s out of 3,100,000 results.  I’d say that’s not too bad for a site that is not even a month old.

The Cellulite Case Study – 10/23/2009 Report

Posted on October 23rd, 2009 by Urbain

As of today, there are no sales to report — but, items have been clicked.  It’s just a matter of time until we see this site make some money.

The last couple of days, I have been away on business.  However, I did manage to find some time to submit more articles through AMA, which has so far delivered about 14 unique links.  The Magic Article Submission software has yielded approximately 80 unique links so far.

The unique visitor count is at 170.

The site is finally getting some search engine traffic.

For some reason, there is still no page rank at Google, although pages are definitely getting indexed.  Google, Yahoo and MSN are now showing indexed pages.  Here’s the SEO Quake toolbar as of today:

The toolbar is usually slow in reporting Alexa.  The current rank is 1,599,148.

Finally, here’s a snapshot from my Amazon affiliate area.  Cellulite related products are getting clicked … there are no purchases yet.  In time, I think there will be some sales.  What this shows is that targeted traffic is coming in now.

The Cellulite Case Study – 10/20/2009 Report

Traffic continues to increase, and quite a few articles are now publishing.  In a week’s time, I think this site will start making money.

The article that was published at Ezine Articles has generated a click to the storefront.  I have not seen a sale yet, however.

EzineArticles

At Article Marketing Automation (AMA), eight unique versions of an article have been published.

AMA-Stats

A bunch of articles have been published through the Magic Article Rewriting and Submission software.  Over 200 are pending, around 50 have been accepted in the directories.  Some of these are getting downloaded already.  This software is one of the most incredible tools I’ve ever used … If you’re serious about generating tons of articles and links, definitely check it out.

Finally, Alexa has jumped up again.  A few days ago, the site was in the 7 million mark.  We’re now under 2 million.  Obviously, there is a long way to go, but this is a nice start.

As you can see, we’re moving along on a brand new site.  Hopefully, there will be some income to report soon.

The Cellulite Case Study – 10/19/2009 Report

Posted on October 19th, 2009 by Urbain

This morning, the case study site saw a considerable amount of fresh indexing.  Right now, 79 pages are indexed in Google and we have another 39 in Yahoo.

Stats

I ran out of time to do any marketing on this site over the weekend; however, Article Marketing Automation published some more spins of the article I submitted on Friday, so there are now 7 back links coming from them.

There is no income to report yet.

The final installations have been done, including adding in a duplicate content filter for Wordpress.  I am currently working on the autoresponder sequence.  The site should be visible tomorrow, although I am not sure that I’ll have the autoresponder done by then.  Stay tuned!

Phase 4, Revisited – Policies and Disclaimers

Posted on October 12th, 2009 by Urbain

I had some questions in another forum about where to find decent policies page generators, especially with the potential $11,000 FCC fines.

There are some free and paid policies generators that I reviewed in one of my previous posts.  I highly recommend Shawn Casey’s product because it is written by a lawyer who spent months talking with the FCC.

For sites that have reviews, you might want to consider using the suggested language provided by paid-to-blog types of services.  In my opinion, I think Pay Per Post has the best language, which can be integrated into your footers and disclaimers page.

For health and fitness blogs, it’s imperative that you add a medical disclaimer on every single post, which can be easily done in the footer. I have a sample here — make sure that you have a legal professional review it and that you rewrite it to match your site.

The Cellulite Case Study – Part 7

Posted on October 11th, 2009 by Urbain

Today’s phase is to get ready for automation.  The “info” portion of the site will contain articles that I have rewritten from PLR sources.  I am almost done with this and will have three months’ worth of uniquely written blog posts.

A lot of people do not spend much time rewriting their PLR articles.  Perhaps I am too picky, but I choose to do so for the benefit of the reader.  Sometimes the articles have grammatical or factual errors, or they just sound kind of stupid to me.

However, this is time consuming.  To add to my efforts in keeping the site fresh and constantly updated, I am also using Instant Blog Submitter, which I talked about here.  The $4.97 trial is still active, so check it out now.

The first thing I did was set up a profile.  It’s easy to do.  (The image is linked to my product review.)

Instant-Blog-01

Since this is a pretty specific niche, I found a health-related site that offers free RSS feeds and added its feed to the software.  Then, I decided to add a random schedule.  The software can be used to create fixed schedules for posts (i.e., every Monday morning at 9:00 a.m.) or random posts, such as what I decided to do.

Instant-Blog-02

The RSS feed, combined with the articles that I am posting, will keep the site fresh and active.  This portion of the site is monetized by Adsense.  We’ll see how that goes as time progress.

The Cellulite Case Study: Part 6

Posted on October 10th, 2009 by Urbain

Well, I’ve fallen a bit behind because of so many other things to do.  I am about halfway through rewriting PLR articles and have installed a couple more plugins.

One of the plugins that you might want to add to your own blogs is a 404 redirect.  The one I like is Smart 404 — Just search for it in your “Add Plugins” section of your Wordpress dashboard and then click the install button.

Once you have installed the plugin, make sure that you modify your 404 page template, sort of like this:

404-Template

You can get the exact copy/paste code to use and then modify at the plugin author’s page.  To find it, go to your installed plugins directory and click the link for the plugin.

If you remove or rename some of your posts down the road, the 404 plugin will give your visitor a list of suggested posts.  This should keep your visitors on your site.

There’s been a little bit of traffic coming in from search engine bots, even though the site is not live.  This will change dramatically once I turn everything one and start posting.  Hopefully, I can get that started by tonight or in the morning.
