Who Was the First Woman to Ever Receive an Electoral Vote?

In 1972, the first woman to ever receive an electoral vote in United States presidential campaigns was Tonie Nathan.
Was she a Democrat?
No.
A Republican?
No.
Nathan was the running mate with John Hospers on the Libertarian ticket. The elector who cast this historic vote was Roger MacBride, a Republican elector from Virginia.
